One of Philly’s Unsung Greats – Comedian Malcolm Hill

Comedian Malcolm Hill is one of Philadelphia’s most seasoned and respected comedians. He is a true underground legend who has been putting in work for decades. Known as the hardest working and funniest comedic host coming out of Philadelphia, Malcolm brings high energy, sharp wit, and unmatched crowd control to every stage he touches.

As a hot young comic coming up in the Philly comedy scene, Malcolm was already killing sets during late nights in smoke-filled rooms at iconic venues like The Laff House, Punchline, Helium, and Warm Daddy’s, performing on par with some of today’s biggest comedic greats.

From disrupting classrooms at West Philly’s Overbrook High School with Will Smith, to going back to back with future stars like Kevin Hart and Michael “muddasucka” Blackson, Malcolm sharpened his talent early and has stood the test of time in comedy.

“We were all doing shows and trying to get on stage at different clubs,” Malcolm reminisces. “I remember, I’d have to go to work the next morning, but Kevin would be at every spot trying to do as many sets as possible.”

Watching Kevin Hart break through to the big screen in 2004’s Soul Plane inspired Malcolm deeply and ignited an even stronger fire to make his own mark in entertainment.

Malcolm Hill has appeared in numerous short films including Why Is My Child Support So High?, Mutombo, starring Michael Blackson, and the drama film A Pair of Shoes, just to name a few. He has also written and produced multiple skit series including I Got Issues, Karaoke Crashers, and Jack Leg Plumber.

Any true comic will tell you that comedy is about paying homage to those who came before. Over the years, Malcolm has opened for legends such as Talent, Corey Holcomb, Smokey Suarez, Joe Torry, Charles Walden, Rob Stapleton, Michael Colyar, the multi talented Tommy Davidson, and the comedic genius Paul Mooney. He has also performed with iconic entertainers Bill Bellamy and Monique.

After being nominated for Comedian of the Year at the Philly Hip Hop Awards, Malcolm is ready to take the world by storm.

With over 25 years of hosting and performing, Malcolm’s versatility is unmatched. From clean comedy events and cruise ships to karaoke and high energy nightlife, one thing is guaranteed. Any show Malcolm Hill is on will be full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Today, you can catch Malcolm hosting New Jersey’s number one comedy show, Unorthodox Comedy, at Wilson’s, a Black owned restaurant that has become a premier destination for comedy lovers.
