PROVERBS 15 — WISDOM LISTENS
Proverbs chapter 15 teaches us about the power of our words, the importance of humility, and the wisdom found in receiving correction.
The chapter reminds us that a gentle answer can calm anger. God sees everything. A wholesome tongue brings life. Wise people seek knowledge. Prayer matters to God. And those who receive correction grow in understanding.
But here is the challenge:
You cannot grow in wisdom if you refuse to receive correction.
Sometimes correction comes through God’s Word. Sometimes through the Holy Spirit. Sometimes through wise counsel. Sometimes through our experiences. Sometimes through consequences. And sometimes through someone who loves us enough to tell us the truth.
Correction may sound like:
“Watch how you speak.”
“Listen before you respond.”
“Let go of your pride.”
“Be willing to learn.”
“Choose differently this time.”
Proverbs 15:31 challenges us not merely to hear correction, but to receive the life-giving instruction within it.
Correction is not always rejection. Sometimes it is God’s protection, direction, and preparation.
